Circular Economy

The Haut-Saguenay SADC is a partner in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Circular Economy Project.

This project is an initiative coordinated by the Centre Québécois de développement durable (CQDD), in collaboration with Alliage 02 and Groupe Coderr.

What exactly is the circular economy ?

The development of the circular economy is a strategy that aims to turn away from the traditional linear economic model, based on the principle of ¨extract-manufacture-consume-dispose¨. Instead, it focuses on creating new products through the reuse of materials and recycled products.

What benefits can we get from it ?

The circular economy strategy helps improve the region’s attractiveness. With this in mind, SADC-HS supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in this process by giving access to the necessary financing and technologies (digital transition). The circular economy provides a perfect balance between ecological ambition and economic competitiveness.

The Project

This project aims to accelerate the region’s transition to a circular economy by establishing industrial symbiosis and other circularity  strategies. This regional symbiosis seeks to create business synergies that will enable participants to optimize the use  of their resources, extend the useful life of materials, reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to the well-being of their teams and, more broadly, their community.

Our Networking Workshops

Various activities are offered, including networking workshops, which connect organizations to foster discussions and exchanges around the supply and demand of various resources.

The goal is to optimize the production, use, reuse, repair, and recycling of materials to reduce the environmental footprint of our regional businesses.

Ultimately, the supply and demand collected during the networking workshops help identify potential synergies between providers and seekers. Additionally, new opportunities and business prospects may emerge from these meetings.
